Methods A theoretical model defined the SPD system's four core dimensions, assessed by a custom questionnaire, as independent variables influencing the dependent variable of overall cost-control effectiveness. Results Results demonstrate significant effectiveness across inventory cost control, operational efficiency optimization, loss reduction, and data-driven decision-making. Notably, the loss control dimension (β = 0.371) stands out as the most critical factor for achieving precise cost management. Conclusions This indicates that SPD systems effectively eliminate medical consumables "leakage" through "one item, one code" full-process traceability and "post-use settlement" models, serving as the core element for precise cost control.
