Traumatic intraoral herniation of buccal fat pad

Intraoral herniation of the buccal fat pad is a rarely encountered injury in the pediatric group population. It presented as a yellowish blood-tinged pedunculated mass of soft tissue which was nontender and non-pulsatile emanating from the left buccal mucosa following minor trauma to the buccal soft tissues at the level of the maxillary occlusal plane near the parotid papilla. The purpose of this case report is to showcase the rare traumatic prolapse of the buccal fat pad in a young girl and its successfully surgical management by repositioning at a delayed time interval.
