Editorial Commentary.

The editorial team welcomes you to the April–June 2025 Journal of Human Reproductive Sciences issue. For the new issue, we have seven original articles, one review article and two case reports. The first article is a narrative review by Satwik R et al., which explored the various approaches to improve assisted reproductive technology outcomes in women with adenomyosis and provided a comprehensive review on the topic. The issue has few articles focusing on polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). In a cohort study by Peepal P et al., the authors evaluated various clinical and ultrasonographic parameters that help determine the starting dose for letrozole during ovulation induction in women with PCOS. In a study by Mahey R et al., the authors validated the much-needed Hindi version of the PCOSQOL scale. In a study by Bajpai A et al., the authors reported an association of psychological distress, fatigue and insomnia with PCOS. Shifting the focus to embryology, in a study by Pande DB and team, the authors explored whether the visibility of inner cell mass affects the capacity of the embryologist to predict the clinical outcome. A pilot study by Neeta Singh et al. explored the role of cell-free DNA in spent culture medium for non-invasive pre-implantation testing for aneuploidy and shared their findings. In a cross-sectional study by Alinia S et al., the authors explored the association between the SUN5 gene mutation and male infertility. In a study based on an animal model, the authors demonstrated the influence of truffle extracts on the semen parameters and explored their potential therapeutic use in treating male infertility. In one of the case reports, the authors report a rare chromosomal abnormality, 48, XXYY and discuss its clinical features and long-term management. In the second case report, the authors have reported a rare event of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) following administration of GnRH agonist trigger, highlighting the importance of staying vigilant during in vitro fertilisation treatment in women who are at high risk of OHSS.
