The results presented in the article are based on a pilot study conducted among 20 respondents of the postgraduate studies of the Prison Service of the Academy of Justice conducted on March 3, 2024. The research topics in the form of a survey were related to management in the Prison Service. The results of pilot studies related to the image and role of social media, and the impact of social media on image creation were exemplified. Image problems perceived by officers actively serving in the Prison Service were presented, as well as the role played by social media in its creation. This is undoubtedly an area that requires further in-depth research in this direction in order to improve and outline these problems. Due to the pilot nature of the study, it is not possible to draw conclusions about the population, the study aims to verify the correctness of the tool. This allowed for the assumption that the discussed topic requires conducting proper research. Further directions of publication include examining the Prison Service units during qualitative and quantitative research with representatives of the management level and officers on active duty in the units.
