The objective. Assessment of microcirculation of the pelvic floor in women with recurrent pregnancy loss using the method of laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF).
Patients and methods. 61 women with 2 previous pregnancy losses were examined (study group), the findings of LDF in 32 healthy nonpregnant women were studied for determination of normative parameters. LDF recordings were taken once for 30 seconds from the anterior vaginal wall.
Results. In the study group of patients as compared with controls a significant decrease of blood flow parameters was found: М (М) – 16.15 ± 0.73 perfusion units, mean squared deviation σ (σ) – 2.47 ± 0.26 PU, coefficient of variation Kv (Kv) – 15.3%.
Conclusion. Impaired processes of microcirculation in microvessels of the pelvic floor influence pregnancy carrying. In this group of patients, the treatment regimen should include pharmacological agents and physiotherapy treatment techniques for improvement of microcirculation. LDF can be used for both diagnosing impaired microcirculation of the pelvic floor and control of the effectiveness of administered therapy.
Key words: laser Doppler flowmetry, microcirculation, miscarriage, habitual abortion, recurrent pregnancy loss.
