Abstract
Conventional transabdominal sonography is being challenged by the use of a transvaginal probe, because this technique reveals details and images of the female reproductive tract not previously visualized. Our experience of about 3,000 patients, the including 700 patients with gynecologic cancer, indicates that the TV approach will replace conventional transabdominal sonography as the initial study for female pelvic lesions.
