Abstract

Objective To study and analyze the ultrasonographic features of endometriosis in incision of abdominal wall after cesarean section in order to raise the awareness of physicians and their diagnostic accuracy.Methods The data of ultrasonographic features in 16 cases of endometriosis in incision of abdominal wall after cesarean section confirmed by surgery and pathological examination were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed in order to summarize its ultrasound characteristics for diagnosis and differential diagnosis.Results The ultrasonographic features of endometriosis in incision of abdominal wall after cesarean section manifested as solid heterogeneous,irregular and hypoechoic mass without obvious capsule in subcutaneous fat layer or muscular layer.A history of cesarean section and symptom of significant periodic lower abdominal pain might be helpful in its diagnosis.Conclusion According to ultrasonographic features,history of cesarean section and typical clinical manifestation,the endometriosis in abdominal incision after cesarean section can correctly be diagnosed.
