Abstract

Objective To study the effect of Gestrinone capsules on adenomyosis complicated with infertility. Methods Gestrinone capsules were given to 15 patients suffering from adenomyosis complicated with infertility with a dosage of 2.5mg twice a week for 6 months. To some patients, additional Lival (HRT treatment) was applied to reduce drug complications. After withdrawing the Gestrinone, assisted reproductive drugs were used for some patients and IUI was applied to one patient. Examinations of B-ultrasonography, MRI, L-BMD, Blood CA125 and sexual hormone were performed before and after the treatment. Results After the treatment, the symptoms of dysmenorrhea were relieved. B-us and MRI showed that the focus of adenomyosis and the volume and size of ovum diminished in 2/3. The levels of Blood CA125, FSH, LH and E2 decreased significantly (P0.01). L-BMD had no significant changes (P0.05). The pregnant rate reached 73.3%. Conclusion Gestrinone capsules are effective for the treatment of infertility with adenomyosis. ART and IUI are considered necessary to further improve the pregnant rate.
