Abstract

Immunohistochemical streptavidin-biotin peroxidase was applied to examine the expression of Survivin in 22 normal, 53 eutopic, and 69 ectpic endometrial tissues. Survivin was detected in six of 53 (11.3%) eutopic and 30 of 69 (43.5%) ectopic endometrial tissues, but not in normal endometria; The expression of Survivin int eh three groups was signifcantly different (X~(2)=14.90, 14.27; P<0.001). Survivin plays an importantn role in the development of endometriosis.
