Abstract
ObjectiveGnRH-a has a biphasic action,i.e.an initial stimulating action and a sequential down regulation.As only the down regulation is desired for therapeutic use,the possibility of holding down the stimulating effect was investigated.Methods33 patients with endometriosis were given GnRH-a and RU-486.The serum levels of FSH,LH and E2 were monitored,with patients' manifestations noticed.ResultsThe levels of FSH,LH and E2 declined smoothly.No transient symptomatic aggravation was noticed.ConclusionRU-486 can abolish the up-regulation of GnRH-a safely.
