The association between love, collectivism and the number of children.

This study examined the association between love, collectivism and the number of children indifferent types of relationships (informal, formal, engaged, married). The variables weremeasured using the Sternberg Three-Factor Love Scale - STLS (intimacy, passion,commitment) and the ESTCOL scale measuring collectivist attitudes (C1 - family). The studywas conducted online on a group of 62 people in age 20-60. It was found that the number ofchildren negatively affects intimacy and passion. Positive interactions were found betweencommitment and the type of relationship, and also between the type of relationship and thenumber of children - with the increase in the formality of the relationship, the factors ofcommitment and number of children increase. However, no significant correlation was foundbetween collectivism and any of the factors.
