Combined diagnosis of uterine malformation with hysteroscopy and laparoscopy: 94 cases analysis

Objective: To explore value of combined diagnosis of uterine malformation with hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.Methods: Retrospectively analyzed clinic data of 94 cases with uterine malformation diagnosed by hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.48 cases in group 1 were examined and treated by surgery under hysteroscopy and laparoscopy at different stage,while 46 cases in group 2 were examined and treated by surgery at the same stage.Results: 77 out of 94 cases had incomplete mediastinal uterine,12 had complete mediastinal uterine,4 had unicornuate uterus accompanied with rudimentary horn of uterus,1 had double uterus.Risk factors leading to sterility and infertility such as pelvic adhesion,polycystic ovary syndrome,endometriosis,and uterine malformation were removed after examination and surgery under hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.Misdiagnosis occurred as diagnosing with ultrasound,hysterosalpingo graphy and hysteroscopy.Patients in group 1 had success surgery without complication,with 2-9 d,average 5 d course in hospital;while 2 cases in group 2 had small perforation at uterine bottom due to electric shock,and had traumatonesis with 2-9 d,average 4 d course in hospital.Conclusion: Combined examination with hysteroscopy and laparoscopy is an ideal diagnosis method for infertile and sterile patients with suspicious uterine malformation.
