Comparison investigation on four treatment methods of endometriosis

[Objective] To explore the best treatment method of endometriosis. [Methods] From 1997 to 2004, a total of 240 patients with endometriosis, on the elective conditions, divided into four groups. there were 60 patients in each group. Group A was laparoscopic surgery group. Group B was open abdomen operation, Group C was medicine treatment group. Group D was laparoscopic surgery and medicine treatment one. Compare the relief of symptom, the relapse of symptom and pregnancy before and after treatment in each group to investigate the effect of each groups and to explore the best method of to treat endometresis. [Results] After treatment, the number of relapse were 13(21.67%), 19(31.67%), 51(85.00%) and 6(10.00%) in group A-D respectively. The numbers of pregnancy were 35(58.33%), 19(31.67%), 7(11.67%) and 39(65.00%) in group A-D respectively. The relapse rate of group D was the lowest in all four groups. And the pregnancy rate of it was the hightest. [Conclusion] The best treatment methods are laparoscopic surgery and medicine treatment after surgery.
