Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1alpha(HIF-1α) and angiogenesis in endometriosis(EMSS) and to investigate the effects of HIF-1α on the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods HIF-1α,VEGF expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in eutopic/ectopic endometrium of EMSS and normal endometrium tissue.Vascular endothelial cell was marked with CD34 monoclonal antibody to calculate the microvessel density of endometrial tissue. Results The positive expression of HIF-1α,VEGF and MVD in ectopic endometrium of EMSS were significantly higher than those in eutopic/normal endometrium tissue(p0.01).HIF-1α was positively correlated with VEGF and MVD(r=0.906,p=0.000;r=0.777,p=0.000),and the expression of VEGF were tightly correlated with MVD(r=0.639,p=0.000).Conclusion The over expression of HIF-1α plays an important role in the generation of EMSS.HIF-1α and VEGF may play a synergetic action in the angiogenesis of EMSS.
