The safety of danazol on ovarian function

Objective To study the effects on the ovarian function.Methods 40 virgin female adult SD rats were randomly divided into four groups,includingdanazol 42mg,63mg,84mg group and control group.During anestrum,the animal was given physiological saline 0.5ml /kg.d danazol 42 mg/kg·d、63 mg/kg·d and 84 mg/kg·d for 12 days.Results Weight increased with accrescenced dosage of danazol.The Weight increased in danazol 84mg group was significantly different from that of other groups(P0.05).The follicles of danazol 84mg group were less than that of other groups(P0.05).The hormone decreased with accrescenced dosage of danazol.The hormone in danazol groups was significantly different from that of control group(P0.05).Conclusion The side effect of danazol was obvious,including increased body weight and decreased ovarian function.
