Abstract

Corporate operations, especially in logistics, have been greatly affected by global instability caused by events like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war. This study looks at how sustainable human resource management (HRM) strategies are used in the Lithuanian logistics industry during crises. It focuses on how organizations stay strong, the stress factors involved, and how employees adjust. We used a study method that focuses on understanding people’s experiences to find important challenges and effective solutions, based on input from experts. The results show that employees mostly face problems with IT issues, being always available, working extra hours, and adjusting to hybrid work arrangements. Businesses that had psychological support, open schedules, and digital tools were better at keeping operations running and keeping employees motivated. The study highlights the importance of active human resource management (HRM) practices, showing a clear link between a company's longevity and the well-being of its employees. A human resource management model for emergency situations is proposed, which integrates the most effective strategies for stress management, remote work optimization, and employee support. These results are a valuable addition to the ongoing discourse on sustainable human resource management in the face of crises and provide logistics companies with practical recommendations for building personnel resilience in challenging situations.
