The preprint evaluates Aizoon extract as an eco-friendly corrosion inhibitor for stainless steel 430 exposed to 2 M hydrochloric acid, using mass reduction measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and potentiodynamic polarization. The results indicate the extract acts as a mixed-type inhibitor with higher effectiveness toward suppressing the cathodic reaction, achieving 93% inhibition at 300 ppm; adsorption on the steel surface follows a regular Langmuir adsorption model, and thermodynamic parameters are estimated for adsorption and activation processes. Surface characterization and theoretical data are used to support the experimental findings. A major caveat is that this work is a preprint that has not been peer reviewed. The paper does not explicitly discuss endometriosis or adenomyosis; it was included in the corpus via a keyword match in the upstream search index.

Abstract

Aizoon extract used as anti-corrosion for stainless steel430 (SS430) in 2M hydrochloric acid solution. The mass reduction, electrochemical impedance, and potentiodynamic polarization were carried out to demonstrate the performance of Aizoon extract as corrosion resistance for SS430. Polarization revealed that the Aizoon extract is mixed type inhibitor with superiority to inhibiting the cathodic reaction. The inhibition percentage reaches 93% at 300 ppm extract. Adsorption of the extract on SS430 surface is regular with Langmuir adsorption model. Thermodynamic factors for adsorption and activation processes for SS430 dissolution were estimated and discussed. Furthermore, the SS430 surface is characterized using different techniques. The surface morphology of SS430 was tested utilizing several techniques. The experimental data were supported by the theoretical data.
