Abstract

Death, the inevitable event of departure, evokes a cloud of thoughts that may shower vivacious energy to the life. The COVID-19 induced pandemic and the associated clamour have made a pronounced effect in the general awareness of the common man. The Paper initially points out in what perspective it uses the word ‘Death’ and also defines the term ‘purposeful living’ from Indian Vedantic world-view. Then it elaborates on the connotation of the term ‘teacher’ and the teachings that Death offers to us. Following the suggestions of some world renowned realized souls, it presents in details why Death should be loved to have a meaningful life which is seen as a preparation for death. The Paper highlights the characteristics, following the scriptures, which we may develop within us so that we may benefit from these teachings. Assuming our sincere efforts to be such ideal students, it describes the learning that we may imbibe and exhorts that with right conviction we may have a more meaningful life.
