The 64 Meta-State System: Empirical MRI Validation of TRPI Function Pairings
preprint
OA: closed
Abstract
This study provides the first empirical validation of the 64 Meta-State System within the Trait Response Personality Indicator (TRPI) framework, leveraging Human Connectome Project neuroimaging data. Participants were assigned to meta-states using a blended region-wise similarity metric over prefrontal cortex profiles. Five-fold cross-validation achieved a label-match accuracy of 0.79 (p = 1.1 × 10−156, Cohen’s d = 2.04), and an adjusted Rand index of 0.65 (p = 0.001), demonstrating robust and highly significant brain-based discrimination between meta-states. These results offer compelling neurobiological evidence for the TRPI model, mapping cognitive meta-states onto reproducible patterns of brain organization. These findings establish TRPI as an empirically validated and theoretically integrated personality framework
