Abstract
‒ The catalytic behaviour of [Cu(II)Br 2 -BTP@MNPs] and [Cu(II)Br 2 -BTP@GO] catalysts have been studied for the oxidation of alcohol derivatives. The comparative study indicates that the [Cu(II)Br 2 -BTP@GO] possesses better catalytic activity over the [Cu(II)Br 2 -BTP@MNPs] catalyst. In this reaction, we used a green solvent such as water in presence of tert -Butyl hydroperoxide ( tert -BuOOH) as oxidant. The prepared catalyst was characterized by AAS, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, TGA, elemental analysis and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques, also FT-IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used for characterization of recovered catalyst. The catalyst is stable and can be recovered even after five consecutive cycles of reaction with only a slight loss in its catalytic activity.
