Abstract
AIM: To study the domestic long-term leuprorelin acetate microsphere-delayed release injection in the treatment of sex-hormone dependent diseases complicated with infertility. METHODS: Thirty patients with infertility accompanied by uterine leiomyoma, uterine adenomyosis or endometriosis were treated with domestic long-term leuprorelin acetate microsphere-delayed release injection, 3.75 mg, sc, per month for a course of 2 - 6 mo. The changes of physical signs, uterus volume, hormone levels and final pregnancy rate before and after therapy were observed and compared. RESULTS: After the treatment, 6 of the 30 patients were pregnant , with successful rate of 20 %, showing the decrease in volumes of uterus, adenomyosis, leiomyoma and the levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone; and significant differences with those before the treatment (P 0.01) . The major adverse reactions such as night sweat, hectic fever, decreased of vaginal secretion, pain during intercourse, etc. were caused by hypoestrogenism. CONCLUSION: The domestic long-term leuprorelin acetate is efficient in the treatment of sex-hormone dependent diseases complicated with infertility.
