Abstract
Endometriosis and adenomyosis is defined as the endometrial gland and stromal cells growth outside the uterine cavity, which form endometriotic lesions and cause clinical symptoms and signs. Dysmenorrhea, infertility, dyspareunia, pelvic mass, painful nodules in the cul-de-sac is the main clinical manifestation for the diagnosis. Ultrasound and MRI play an important role in the diagnosis of endometriosis and adenomyosis. Laparoscopy should only be used for the treatment of endometriosis and adenomyosis. So far there is no standard classification for endometriosis and adenomyosis.
