Study of Loneliness and Turnover Intention Amongst It Employees Who Worked Online and Offline during Pandemic

Abstract
Workplace loneliness refers to feeling disengaged and disconnected from work and peers. Since employees feel they lack the desired connection with peers, they become emotionally detached from the organization and its success. Although loneliness was a significant concern even before the pandemic, it is being more widely recognized due to the pandemic. Therefore, personal and workplace factors which can protect against the negative effects of perceived loneliness on well-being need to be identified, and this is the aim of the present study. The aim of this research is to study the feeling of loneliness and turnover intention in IT workers during Covid-19 pandemic and to see if feeling of loneliness leads to turnover intention. The data was collected from 224 IT sector employees constituting both males and females. There were 3 hypotheses stated out for this study. The IT sectors are usually known for employee turnover, stress, burnout, loneliness etc due to which lot of other mental health issues occur to the employees of IT sector and also the IT sector have been confronted for having high rates of mental health isssues but the present results confirm the fact that in IT sector there is no relation between loneliness as well as turnover intensions on gender and mode of work. The study clearly states that loneliness does not have any effect on Employee Turnover intension.
