Abstract
We present a genome assembly from an individual male Protophormia terraenovae (the Northern Blowfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The genome sequence is 783.7 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 7 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.75 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 12,692 protein coding genes.
