Clinical efficacy of KMG uterine artery embolization in treatment of adenomyosis and the effect on ovarian function

Abstract

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of KMG uterine artery embolization in treatment of adenomyosis and the effect on ovarian function.Methods:120 cases with adenomyosis diagnosed by ultrasound and MRI received bilateral uterine artery embolization,the changes of luteinizing hormone,follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol levels before and after operation were detected;the remission rate of dysmenorrhea,the remission rate of abnormal menstruation and changes of uterine volume were followed up.Results:120 cases received uterine artery embolization for 238 times;after operation,dysmenorrhea disappeared in 96 cases,dysmenorrhea relieved obviously in 11 cases,5 cases recurred,the clinical effective rate was 95.53%;the menstrual amount decreased significantly,and the menstrual cycle returned to normal;at 6 months after operation,the cases with anemia returned to normal;the uterine volume decreased progressively;there was no significant difference in levels of luteinizing hormone,follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol before and after operation.Conclusion:The short-term therapeutic effectiveness of KMG uterine artery embolization is obvious,the method has the characteristics of minimal invasion,safety and good effectiveness.
