Abstract
We investigated the impact of considering different case definitions of fever as inclusion criteria among participants enrolling in an acute febrile illness investigation and observed that adopting a subjective assessment of fever regardless of specific fever cut-off value accounted for the diversity of clinical fever phenotypes and did not mischaracterize the febrile population.
