A set of 98 cases diagnosed with non-lactational mastitis with abscess admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu from March 2014 to December 2020. According to the the presence or absence of posterior breast space with abscess, 40 patients were assigned to the posterior space abscess group and 58 patients were assigned to the non-posterior space abscess group. The clinical data of the two groups were compared, VAS scores before operation in posterior space abscess group was significent higher than that of the non-posterior space abscess group (p < 0.05), including 13 patients in the posterior space abscess group and 6 patients in the non-posterior space abscess group experience severe pain(VSD scores ≥8); complete response time in posterior space abscess group was significantly longer than that in the non-posterior space abscess group (p < 0.05). From 2014 to 2020, there was a 69.4% decrease in the number of incision and drainage treatment. In the posterior space abscess group, complete response time and puncture times of combined operations (incision and drainage combined with percutaneous aspiration) was significantly lower than that of percutaneous aspiration (p < 0.05),and VAS scores of pain relief of combined operations was significantly higher than that of percutaneous aspiration (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the clinical symptoms and healing time of patients in the posterior space abscess group were more serious than those in the non-posterior space abscess group, the effect of combined operations in the posterior space abscess group was better than that of single percutaneous aspiration.
