Abstract

In this paper, for the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations, a self-closed turbulence model without any adjustable parameter is formulated and a simple model is proposed. The validation rule for self-closed turbulence model is rigorously derived from the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation. The rule is not effected by turbulence modelling on the Reynolds stresses. As an application, two dimensional turbulent boundary layers, and plate turbulent boundary layers have been formulated.
