Abstract

Objective To study the expression of MMP-3,MMP-9 and TIMP-1 in adenomyosis, and to probe the pathogenesis of adenomyosis. Methods Two-step immunohistochemistry was used to assess the content of MMP-3,MMP-9 and TIMP -1 in ectopic endometrium(45 cases),eutopic endometrium(36 cases)and control endometrium(28 cases)from patients with adenomyosis. Results The expression of MMP-9 in Group A and B was stronger than that in the control group with statistically significant difference(P0.05).The expression of MMP-3 in Group A and B was stronger than that in the control group, and the difference was significant(P0.05);the expression of MMP-3 in Group B was stronger than that in Group A,but there was no significant difference(P0.05).The positive expression of TIMP-1 in the control group was weaker than that in Group A with statishically significant difference(P0.05);the positive expression in Group A was stronger than that in Group B with statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusions The pathogenesis of adenomyosis might be related to the abnormal expressions of MMP-3, MMP-9 and TIMP-1.
