Abstract
On average it takes 8 years to get diagnosed with endometriosis in the UK. This can be due to anticipated stigma experienced by patients from healthcare professionals. Additionally, LGBTQ+ people also experience stigma due to their sexual orientation. Therefore, this project aims to investigate whether endometriosis anticipated stigma contributes to the diagnostic delay of endometriosis in sexual minority people and whether sexual orientation concealment influences this relationship.
