Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a light on a significant flaw in sports law, which is in dire need of immediate attention. The rigidity of the present legal framework governing sports has posed a considerable challenge in managing unprecedented situations arising from the pandemic. This shortcoming is exemplified by the legal and commercial implications that have arisen from the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics.
