Abstract
Objective To detect the expression of Survivin in endometriosis and its significance in angiogenesis. Methods Immunohistochemical streptavidin-biotin peroxidase was applied to examine the expression of Survivin in 22 normal, 53 eutopic , and 69 ectopic endometrial tissues. Results Survivin was detected in six of 53 (11.3%) eutopic and 30 of 69 (43.5%) ectopic endometrial tissues, but not in normal endometria; the expression of Survivin in the three groups was significantly different(χ 2=14.90,14.27;P0.001). Conclusion Survivin plays an important role in the development of endometriosis.
