Background: Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus resulting in chronic inflammation and fibromuscular hyperplasia (1). It is a common cause of chronic pelvic pain and infertility (2). It affects 10% of women in reproductive age groups and is diagnosed in 20-50% of women with infertility (3). Transvaginal ultrasonogram (USG) is the initial modality of choice for the evaluation of patients presenting with pelvic symptoms. Findings and procedure details Findings and procedure details: All our cases were evaluated using a 3T MRI system from Siemens healthcare. 4 hours fasting before the procedure and IV buscopan just before the procedure is administered to reduce bowel peristalsis (8). The protocol used included T2W sagittal, T2W axial and coronal images, T1W Dixon sequences to identify endometriosis cysts and hematosalpinx.
