Estrogen receptor beta was found in epithelial cells of human endometrium, with lower concentrations in women with endometriosis compared to those without.

Abstract

Objective To investigate the different expression of estrogen receptor β(ER-β) in human eutopic endometrium from women with endometriosis and interna-endometriosis.MethodsER-β concentration was determined by immunochemical PV method in 27 women.ResultsER-β was only found in epithelial cells but not stromal cells.ER-β concentration was higher in endometrium from women without endometriosis than that from women with endometriosis.ConclusionThere are significant differences of ER-β in the eutopic endometrium from women with interna-endometriosis,with and without endometriosis,it has clinical significance for therapy.
