Abstract

Abstract The development of Vehicle Ad hoc NETwork (VANET) has resulted from the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). This makes vehicles communicate with each other and provides solutions to the hectic traffic problem. This paper proposes a blockchain-based edge computing framework using Matching Factor-Water Wave Optimization-Montgomery Curve Cryptography (MF-WWO-MCC) to achieve secured communication. Initially, all the vehicles on the road are initialized; also, their details are registered in the blockchain using Inverse-3times Rotate Right Secure Hashing Algorithm (I-3RR-SHA-512). The trustworthiness of the user is evaluated when the user(vehicle) enters into a new Road Side Unit (RSU). Next, for data requests, the authentication of the normal user is verified. Then, by employing the Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set-K-Means Algorithm (IFS-KMA), which assigns RSU as cluster centroids, the vehicles are clustered. Next, through the Software Defined Network (SDN) controller, the requests are transferred to the RSU. In the end, by employing MF-WWO-MCC, the encrypted data is forwarded to the requested user vehicle. The proposed techniques’ performance is validated by analogizing against the prevailing methodologies.
