Assessment of (ORIF PLUS) protocol for management of ankle fractures in diabetic patients

Abstract
Back ground ; treatment of ankle fractures in diabetic patients is associated with high rate of complications. ORIF plus technique is one of best protocols for management of unstable ankle fractures in diabetic patients, to date no studies to assess this method of management as regard functional outcome and rate of complications. Methods: ; prospective study for patients with traumatic acute ankle fractures who will be managed with ORIF plus teqnique patients will be followed for at least six month post-operative for assessment of functional outcome and rate of complications including; infection, nonunion , reoperation ,salvage arthrodesis or amputation . Results: ; the obtained results will be collected summarized a nd statically and analyzed. Conclusion: ; this will includes recommendations according to final results.
