Abstract

Studies were carried out on the effects of administration of Lyndiol on circulation and blood coagulation. Various clinical observations are presented. In Week 1 of Lyndiol medication there was a regulation of the blood stream closely resembling the condition in the luteal phase. However toward the end of the cycle of treatment the values of the luteal phase were not reached. During the withdrawal bleeding values were found closely resembling those of normal menstruation. During the administration of Lyndiol the coagulation and fibrinolytic system in the same test subjects showed more marked differences than those of the fluctuations in the course of a normal cycle. Changes which suggested an increase in coagulation and fibrinolytic tendency began in the first week of Lyndiol treatment and reached their maximum after the second week. Thrombophlebitis or thrombosis did not occur during any of the observed cycles. According to the author clinical statistics seem to show a significantly smaller tendency to thrombosis in women taking oral contraceptives.
