Effectiveness of Laparoscopic Surgery with Mifepristone on Serum Levels of MMP-9/TIMP-1 in Patients with Endometriosis

Objective To study the effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery combined with mifepristone on the levels of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)/matrix tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1) in patients with endometriosis.Methods One hundred patients with endometriosis were randomly divided into two groups,the control group(n=50 cases) and the treatment group(n=50 cases).The patients in the control group were treated through laparoscopic surgery and gestrinone;while the patients in the treatment group were treated through laparoscopic surgery plus mifepristone.The MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were detected.Results The total effective rates were 92% of the treatment group and 84% of the control group.There was a significantly difference(P0.05).There had a drop of MMP-9/TIMP-1 in two groups,but a significantly difference in the treatment group before and after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery plus mifepristone could improve the balance of MMP-9/TIMP-1,through which treating endometriosis.
