Abstract
Objective: To investigate the etiology and diagnostics of adenomyosis so as to elevate the accuracy of clinical diagnosis. Methods: Retrospective analysis of clinical data from 167 cases of edenomysis. Results: The majority of patients are 30 to 50 years of age. Some patients had complicating myoma of the uterus (50.8%),endometrial hyperplasia and polypi(52.7% ),or with a history of pregnancy (95.2%) and intrauterine operation (95.8%).Before operation, accuracy in diagnosis was only 51.4% by physical check up and 53.9% by B ultrasonic scanning. Conclusion: The disease might be associated with the stimulation by high level of estrogen and induced by history of pregnancy or intrauterine operation. Diagnosis should be made based on BUS and serum CA-125 assay,in combination with history, clinical features and pelvic cavity exams.
