Abstract

A patient with recurrent epithelial carcinoma of the ovary undergoing cytoreductive surgery including splenectomy is presented. The role of extensive debulking surgery in ovarian cancer is now well established. Aggressive tumor reductive procedures including splenectomy may be indicated in patients with no prior platinum-containing chemotherapy.
