Influences of Shaofu Zhuyu Wan on expressions of TNF-α and VEGF in rats with endometriosis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the influences of Shaofu Zhuyu Wan on expressions of endometrial tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) mRNA in rats with endometriosis.Methods The rat model of endometriosis was established by using autotransplantation and then successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into model group,gestrinone group and high-dose and low-dose Shaofu Zhuyu Wan group(high-dose group and low-dose group),and a sham-operation group was set in addition.After giving medicinals respectively for 30 days,the expression of TNF-α was detected in eutopic and ectopic endometrium by using immunohistomechemistry technique,and the expression of VEGF mRNA was detected by using RT-PCR.Results Shaofu Zhuyu Wan reduced the expression of TNF-α(P0.05) and significantly reduced the expression of VEGF mRNA(P0.01) in rats with endometriosis.Conclusion Shaofu Zhuyu Wan can inhibit ectopic adhering,implanting and growth of endometrial cells through reducing the expressions of TNF-α and VEGF mRNA,which may be one of mechanisms of Shaofu Zhuyu Wan in treatment of endometriosis.
