Chinese Trade Through Time

China has a very long history of international trade. Silk road is the evidence of that long trading history. Naming the route as silk road one of them, was because the most wanted commodity during that time was silk. Even silk was used as the currency by then. Besides being used for trading, the silk road was also used for intercultural interactions among nations. Through those interactions, knowledge, thought and religion were transmitted. In the modern era, China has the lowest value in exports and imports compared to Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. But in 2020, China has turned into the highest exporter country compared to those countries. Correlations will also be discussed in this paper. Fifty years of historical data will be used to find that association among those countries. Commodities that were being exported and imported will also be discussed to open up the next topic of research on supply chain planning.
