Abstract

Abstract Clinical bottom line. NSAIDs are effective for treating dysmenorrhoea, with NNTs of 2–3 compared with placebo. They also reduce restriction on daily living and reduce absence from work or school. Dysmenorrhoea affects many women of reproductive age, and is a frequent cause of time lost from work or school as well as interfering with daily living. Treatment is usually with NSAIDs and minor analgesics.
