This research delves into the dynamics of the aquaculture industry, with a particular focus on Europe, where the sector exhibits highly heterogeneous trajectories and enterprise trends. Such diversity highlights an ongoing structural transformation within the industry, characterized by the coexistence of varied innovation strategies, production methods, and market adaptations. Employing a Schumpeterian theoretical framework, this study seeks to conceptualize these dynamics. The Schumpeterian perspective enriches the analytical framework, offering valuable insights into the drivers of structural change and the implications for policy and practice in fostering a resilient and competitive aquaculture industry. This study contributes to the academic discourse by providing a nuanced understanding of the aquaculture sector's transformation from an economic point of view.
