Abstract
Porphyrosiphon kaernbachii (Hennings) De Toni (1892: 134) (Fig. 10J). Basonym: Scytonema kaernbachii Hennings (1892: 8). Filaments solitary or in groups, flexuous, irregularly arranged on substrata, (5.28) 7.46–13.27 µm wide. Trichomes cylindrical, slight constricted. Sheath absent or firm, smooth, no lamellae or slight lamellated, hyaline to reddish-brown. Cells isodiametric to short, 8.98–13.03 µm wide, (3.25) 3.76–12.69 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.66. Apical cell conical or rounded-conical, without calyptra or thickening. Cell content granulated, blue-green. Necridia present. Habitat:— Tree bark. Studied material:— PEUFR55792
