Abstract
Objective: To investigate effects of melatonin on the expression of apoptosis related proteins in endometriosis mode of rat. Methods: The endometriosis model of rat was established by surgical implant of endometrial tissues. Rats were randomly divided into four groups. At the end of the experiment, the expressions of Bcl-2, Fas and ICAM-1 were detected by immunohistochemistry, and the activity of nature kill cell in spleen was also measured. Results: The expressions of Bcl-2 and ICAM-1 in melatonin groups were lower than those of the model control group, while the expression of Fas in melatonin groups was higher than that of the model control group. The activity of nature kill cell in spleen of melatonin groups rose significantly in comparison with the model control group. Conclusion: Melatonin may have the effects on the endometriosis model of rat by down-regulating the expression of Bcl-2, ICAM-1 and up-regulating the expression of Fas and the activity of nature kill cells in spleen, which provide the possibility for the clinical therapy of melatonin.
