Abstract

In this study nano composites using vanadyl sulfate and ammonium heptamolybdate were synthesized under reflux conditions. The obtained results indicated that the ratio of starting materials as well as reaction condition (reflux) have an important role in the morphology of the prepared composites. The prepared composites were characterised using FT-IR, SEM, EDX, XRD, ICP and TGA techniques. Then, it was found that the prepared composites successfully catalyze the epoxidation of allyl alcohols with tert- buthylhydroperoxide (TBHP) in high yields. The epoxidation of geraniol, trans − 2-hexene-1-ol, 1-octene- 3-ol and 3-methyl-2-butene-1-ol with 100% selectivity is promising. stability, reusability and high efficiency of composites are the advantages of these composites.
