Untersuchung der Midkine-, Heparanase- und VEGF-Expression zur Entwicklung einer Gentherapie der Endometriose
This study investigated the expression of Midkine, Heparanase, and VEGF genes to identify suitable promoters for developing a targeted gene therapy against endometriosis. Researchers compared these markers in established endometriosis cell lines and patient samples against normal endometrial controls using quantitative RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. The results demonstrated significantly elevated expression of all three genes at both the mRNA and protein levels specifically within endometriotic tissue. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically the molecular characterization of potential promoter elements for future gene therapeutic interventions.
