The effect of electrochemical thearpy on abdominal wall and perineal incision endometriosis

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of electrochemical therapy on abdominal wall and perineal incision endometriosis.Methods:20 cases of abdominal wall and perineal incision endometrioses were divided into two groups: ①Treating group: 10 cases treated by electrochemical therapy;9 tumours were on abdominal wall and 1 on perineal incision area;②Control group: 10 cases treated by surgical operation,all the tomours were on abdominal wall.They were followed up for 5 to 12 months after operation.③One of specimens taken came from surgical operation was treated by electrochemical therapy as experiment.Results:①The pain of menstrual period was disappeared in all 20 cases after treatment but 2 and 3 cases were recurred 5 months post operation in two groups respectively.The tumors treated by electrochemical therapy decreased 80.16%±20.88%;the tumors disaperared after surgical operation but a 50~70 mm operative scar and a hollow defect was formed(mean 47 mm);the age,diameter of tumors pre-treatement,operative time,the score of VAS before and after treatment of two groups had no significant difference;the hospitalized days after operat ion of treating group was shorter than that of control group(P=0.000 0),the cost of hospitalization of treating group was lower than that of control group(P=0.002 6).(2)The ex vivo specimen treated by electrochemical therapy showed: the endometrium and structure of tissue were completely destroied after electrochemical therapy,the former structure and appearance were totally changed and instead by some tissue fragments.Conclusion:Electrochemical therapy could be a new and effective method in treating on abdominal wall and perineal incision endometrisis;it owns the superiority of less injury,quick recovery,good appearance,shorter hospitalized days and lower cost of hospitalization.
