Investigation of the effects of presacral neurectomy on dysmenorrhea induced by endometriosis by laparoscope

Objective:To investigate the effects of presacral neurectomy (PSN) in women with dysmenorrhea due to endometriosis treated with conservative laparoscopic surgical intervention.Methods:97 patients were divided into PSN group with 29 patients, uterosacral ligament amputation group with 35 patients and endometriosis amputatio group with 33 patients.At 6 and 12 months after the surgical procedures, the cure rate was evaluated.Results:The cure rate was significantly higher in group PSN compared with that in uterosacral ligament amputation group and endometriosis focus amputation group at a follow-up examination at 12 months (75.9% vs 37.1% and 33.3%) and 24 months (72.5% vs 31.4% and 21.2%).Conclusion:Presacral neurectomy improves the cure rate in women treated with conservative laparoscopic surgery for dysmenorrhea caused by endometriosis.
